COSTA RICA TRAVEL – A new guide book that focuses on downtown San José, Costa Rica was released this month.

“Many visitors arrive in San José with a head full of pre-conceived notions, not all of them good…” writes Michael Miller

In addition to being the nation’s capital and its largest city, San José has a rich history and is a thriving center for culture, the arts and entertainment. It is the home to live theatre, the national symphony orchestra, and scores of art galleries. It features world-class museums, cathedrals, universities, fine public buildings and beautiful vintage homes.

The Real San José has 25 photographs along with a helpful foldout map of Downtown. It is quickly becoming an essential tool for the visitor to get out and to start having fun in this wonderful city.

In the words of Deacon Blake, an ex-pat from Texas and the author of the international thriller, Mercenary Justice:

I live in San José and I do business here. I continually hear the same questions from new residents and visitors: “Where are the best places to eat?” “What sites do I not want to miss?” “Where is a pharmacist who speaks English?” Miller answers it all with this great new guide. If you want to hit the ground running and navigate around town like a local, you will definitely want your own copy of The Real San José.

The book is available in Costa Rica in paperback for ¢6.000 colones (US$11) at the following locations:

  • The office of the Association of Residents of Costa Rica (ARCR), Ave 4, Calle 40
  • The Hemingway Inn in Barrio Amon, Ave 9, Calle 9
  • The Hotel Rincon in Barrio Otoya, Ave 9, Calle 15
  • The restaurant Sapore Trattoria, Ave 2, Calle 13
  • Beauty salon:  Sala de Belleza Mariana, Calle Pilos, Atenas
