The new prices in effect will be ¢580 for a litre of super, ¢552 for regular an ¢522 for diesel.

The price drop was approved last week by the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (ARESEP) and published in today’s edition of the La Gaceta, the official government gazette.

Prices are expected to continue to drop, with another reduction of ¢49 colones for a litre of super, ¢54 for regular and ¢55 for diesel.

The drop in February will be reality if the per barrel price for oil on international markets keep falling.
